Hi friends! I hope that everyone is having a fantastic February filled with fun and frolicking. Did you notice what I did with words just now? Using all the same letters to start words in a sentence is called ALLITERATION. Here are some classic examples:
She Sells Sea Shells by the Sea Shore
Peter Piper Picked a Peck of Pickled Peppers
the Baker Betty Botter Bought some Butter, But she said "this Butter is Bitter, Bitter Butter is Bad for Batter."
How imaginative can we get with alliteration? Can we do a whole paragraph using this method? I’d like to give it a try using Dragons as a theme. Let’s have some fun!
Danny the Druid Dragon dabbled in dark magic often. He was doubly discreet about it when debutante Debbie was being dazzingly delightful. She was a darling but was definitely doubtful about dark magic. He didn’t want to disturb her decorum with his Druid ways so he deliberately hid them in the depths of his divinely disciplined Dragon body. She never discovered his Druid deeds and so they dovetailed deliciously and durably ever after.
How did I do? Was it a complete story or were there gaps? Did you get the main point of the story or was it unclear? Let me know in the comments so that I can improve my alliteration skills.
