'Imagine That' Issue #6
October 2, 2022 - Introducing Selina Ahnert, writer of fantasy and romance
Hi readers and thanks for joining me for this week’s issue of ‘Imagine That.’
What do you like to read? Is it about politics or gardening or current events or history or trivia or family issues or humor or something else?
What do I like to read? I thought you’d never ask!
I’ve always turned to fiction for my main reading because there’s almost always a moral to the story, as they say. No matter what genre of fiction, there may be some truth engrained in the words of the writer to inspire us.
Let me introduce Selina Ahnert, fantasy writer on Medium that makes use of dialogue and description in a fantastic way. She’s written a few web novels, all interesting enough to keep me coming back for more!
Take a look at her web novel Naylin, Dragons of Light 1. If you like dragons and little creatures that stretch your imagination to the limit mixed with a little romance, you’re going to love this story. Here is a synopsis in Selina’s own words:
Dragons of Light
Dragons of Darkness
Being happy and loved was all that Naylin had ever wanted. However, the Coming of Age Tradition in her village of Tarrowanne was putting a stop to that. Her childhood friend wanted to claim her during this ceremony, but if he did, Naylin knew what kind of life she would have, and it would not be a happy one. The only other prospect was someone she hadn’t seen for years, but would he come? And would he actually want her?
This would be enough for anyone to worry about, but in the midst of all of this, a great darkness is coming. A Change is about to happen, and it has awoken the oldest Dragons of Light from their long slumber. Naylin’s future and small concerns are about to be turned upside down when all of this clashes together.
Will she be able to hold out and survive the coming catastrophe? Or will love win out in the end and give her the life she’s always wanted?
Hopefully you are able to take the time to read Selina’s web novel. It really is worth a read! And if you aren’t yet a member of Medium, you can sign up through Selina’s referral link. She’ll get a small portion of your fee which will help her out each month.
